The Lady Meredith House features an ornate, grey limestone facade tucked behind a high iron fence on Pine Avenue. Sir Hugh Allan built this mansion in eighteen ninety-four for his son, Andrew, and his wife, Lady Meredith. The house contains forty rooms and once required a staff of fifteen to function. In the nineteen seventies, the building became part of McGill University, housing the nursing school, and now serves as an administrative space for the university.
