La Librairie du Square

The bright yellow storefront on Saint Denis Street holds La Librairie du Square, an independent bookstore that has anchored this corner since nineteen eighty-three. While many neighborhood shops turned into cafes or boutiques, this space remains packed floor to ceiling with French literature and local titles. When the building faced potential demolition decades ago, the owners fought to keep the original storefront intact. It still displays the same curved glass windows that stopped neighborhood residents in their tracks over forty years ago.
