The low, long brick facade of Cafe Campus sits on Prince Arthur Street, distinguished by the thick, hand-painted letters of its sign. Generations of McGill and Concordia students spent their nights here, drinking draft beer and dancing on sticky floors to whatever was on the radio. It functioned as a rite of passage for Montreal undergraduates for decades. Before the crowds arrived in the nineties, however, the building housed a modest cinema, where locals caught matinee films while the city outside shifted.
