Café Frutal stands out because of the mural of bright, oversized tropical fruits painted across its corner exterior wall. It began as a small family venture by the Restrepo brothers in the mid-nineties, back when this neighborhood was mostly quiet warehouses. They sourced their beans from high-altitude farms in the nearby Andes, roasting them in batches on a vintage cast-iron machine. The scent of those first roasts often drifted down the street, drawing in local workers who needed a strong cup of coffee.
