Versalles stands out on the corner of Junin Street with its wide, open-air storefront and tables packed onto the sidewalk. Since nineteen sixty-one, this restaurant has served as the unofficial living room for downtown Medellin. It began when a group of Spanish immigrants opened their doors, bringing traditional pastries and empanadas to a city that was rapidly changing around them. Regulars still gather here for coffee and conversation, keeping the same social rhythm that took hold over sixty years ago.
