Parque de los Pies Descalzos

The Parque de los Pies Descalzos features a forest of bamboo and a labyrinth of sand and water where visitors take off their shoes. EPM, the city-owned utility company, built this park in the late nineteen nineties on the site of their former administrative offices. They designed the space to soften the industrial feel of the surrounding utility buildings. During the initial construction, planners invited local children to test the water channels, which quickly became the park's central feature.
