The facade of the Cannes Cinema mural features a massive trompe l'oeil painting of a traditional movie theater entrance, complete with classic red curtains and film reels. It occupies the side of a building overlooking the old port, honoring the city's long association with the film festival. Painters from the Cite de la Creation designed this work in two thousand four to replace a blank wall. It remains a permanent salute to the golden age of cinema on the French Riviera.
