While the rest of Cannes chased the glitz of the seaside promenade, this street kept its identity as the town’s original commercial spine. In the eighteen hundreds, local merchants lived above their stalls here, selling essential goods to the working harbor community before the luxury hotels and film festivals transformed the city’s waterfront.
