Parc des Impressionnistes

The Parc des Impressionnistes holds a rigid, geometric layout that stands in contrast to the wild banks of the Seine nearby. This five-hectare park occupies former industrial land where dyers once worked, leaving behind soil so contaminated that planners had to cap it with a massive drainage system before planting a single tree. It functions as a filter for rainwater, pulling runoff into a series of stepped, reed-lined ponds that slowly clean the water before it eventually drains back into the river.
