The Place de la Libération serves as the centerpiece of Levallois-Perret, anchored by a bronze monument that marks the liberation of the commune in August nineteen forty-four. It occupies a space once defined by the industrial ambition of Nicolas Levallois, who laid out this town on a grid to house factory workers in the nineteenth century. Before this plaza existed, the site held local administrative buildings that saw the transformation of a marshy island settlement into a dense, bustling hub of suburban life.
