Lycée Pasteur (Neuilly-sur-Seine)

The Lycée Pasteur stretches across the Parc de Neuilly with a long, cream-colored limestone facade and a row of tall, arched windows. Originally designed as a grand hospital for wounded soldiers during the First World War, the building welcomed American volunteers who rushed to treat those arriving from the front lines. By nineteen twenty-three, the structure transitioned into a school. In the early days of the occupation, German forces seized the site, turning the classrooms into a center for their own soldiers.
