Ancien hôtel Lambiotte

The building you are approaching is the former Hotel Lambiotte, a private mansion constructed between nineteen thirty-one and nineteen thirty-six. It stands as a significant example of residential architecture from the nineteen thirties, bridging the gap between classical inspiration and the functionalist aesthetic of the modern movement. The structure was commissioned by the industrialist Jean Lambiotte, who chose the architect Pierre Barbe to design the residence on a large parcel of land in what was formerly the duc d'Orleans estate. Barbe won the commission through a private competition and went on to receive a silver medal for the finished design, which was widely celebrated in architectural journals of the era.
