The Tour Eqho stands as a jagged, angular silhouette among the smooth glass towers of La Defense. Originally built in the nineteen eighties as the Tour Descartes, its facade featured deep red granite and sharp geometric lines that defied the trend of uniform steel shells. When the tower underwent a massive renovation in the twenty tens, architects stripped the interior to its concrete skeleton and replaced the exterior with light-reflective glass, leaving the distinct, stepped profile as the only evidence of its original design.
