Tour Saint-Gobain

landmark

The Tour Saint-Gobain rises above the La Defense district as a jagged, crystalline silhouette, its facade composed of shifting glass planes that mimic the texture of a mountain range. This headquarters for the three-hundred-year-old materials company operates as a showroom for their own high-performance glass. When architects Valode and Pistre designed the tower, they insisted on glass so transparent that it erases the boundary between the office floors and the sky, creating the illusion of a building dissolving into the clouds.
