La gare - Trompe l'œil

The wall of the building in Trezel features a massive trompe l'oeil mural depicting a nineteenth-century railway station. It covers the side of a residential structure, replacing plain stone with painted platforms, steam locomotives, and travelers frozen in the act of boarding. The artist, Marie-Pierre Mourier, painted the scene in nineteen eighty-four to reflect the neighborhood's history when the local tracks were a central hub for commuters. She even included portraits of real Levallois residents among the painted passengers waiting on the platform.
