Buste d'Alexandre Dumas

A bronze bust of Alexandre Dumas sits atop a stone pedestal in the Place Auguste Metivier. The sculptor Gustave Doré cast this likeness in eighteen eighty-three, capturing the author of The Three Musketeers with a lively expression and his signature curly hair. Dumas lived much of his life in Paris, and his body was eventually moved to the Pantheon. This bust remains here to mark his enduring connection to the neighborhood where he once enjoyed spending time among his many friends.
