The red hull of the Batofar lightship sits low in the Seine, painted a shade of cherry red that stands out against the gray stone of the quay. It served as a maritime lighthouse in Ireland for decades before it arrived in Paris in nineteen ninety-nine. Since then, the repurposed vessel has operated as a floating venue for electronic music and club nights. Its rusted steel decks were once home to lighthouse keepers, but now they hold speakers and a bar.
