The Maison de la Radio et de la Musique rises from the banks of the Seine as a vast, white concrete circle. Architect Henry Bernard designed this curved structure in the early nineteen sixties to house all of the French national broadcasting services under one roof. When workers finished the building, it featured a central tower surrounded by a circular belt of studios, creating a self-contained city for radio and television production that remains the heartbeat of public broadcasting in France today.
