PC20 Petite Ceinture du 20eme

park garden

The Petite Ceinture tracks in the twentieth arrondissement consist of rusted rails overtaken by wild climbing ivy and thick patches of buddleia. Built in the eighteen fifties as a circular railway to connect the main stations of Paris, the line fell into disuse by the nineteen thirties. While trains once carried heavy freight and eager passengers along this loop, the tunnel walls now serve as a canvas for layers of street art and the tracks have become a sanctuary for spontaneous urban nature.
