Square Louis-Lumière occupies the site of a former studio complex where the Lumière brothers filmed some of the earliest motion pictures. The park features a bronze bust of Louis Lumière, placed here to honor the man who helped invent the cinematograph. Concrete paths cut through the green space, while tall apartment blocks rise immediately behind the perimeter fence. Residents now use the benches and playground areas daily, occupying the ground where film crews once hauled heavy wooden cameras to capture moving images.
