monument

The Espace Monte-Cristo hides behind a discreet, ivy-covered brick facade on a quiet street in the twentieth arrondissement. Inside this former industrial space, the Fondation Villa Datris maintains a rotating collection of contemporary sculpture. In two thousand eighteen, art collectors Danièle Kapel-Marcovici and Tristan Fourtine transformed this old site into a public gallery to showcase their massive private collection. They specifically built the space to bring large-scale, often whimsical, three-dimensional works into a neighborhood far from the traditional gallery districts of central Paris.
