Place de la Réunion features a central stone fountain topped with a bronze sculpture of a woman holding a child, created by sculptor Jean-Marie Camus in nineteen oh five. Before this square became a quiet residential hub, the site belonged to the village of Charonne, which the city of Paris annexed in eighteen sixty. The fountain served as the primary water source for local residents who gathered here daily to fill their buckets before the neighborhood transitioned into the dense urban center you see today.
