Place de la Réunion

Place de la Réunion in the twentieth arrondissement serves as a vibrant local hub, though it is perhaps best known for a piece of community-led public art that once adorned its center. A fountain designed by the prolific nineteenth-century sculptor Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse stands at the heart of the square. While the fountain was originally intended as a standard urban water source, local residents transformed it into a unique, colorful mosaic by layering it with thousands of multi-colored office dot stickers. This playful, evolving display was organized by the neighborhood council and local schools, turning an unremarkable bronze structure into a celebrated piece of neighborhood history.
