Centre D'Hygiene Sociale

The Centre d’Hygiene Sociale stands out with its curved, cream-colored facade that wraps sharply around the street corner, accented by distinct, rounded windows. Built in the nineteen thirties, the building served as a dispensary for the Goutte d’Or neighborhood, designed to combat the spread of tuberculosis among the city’s working class. The architect, Raymond Roux, used industrial concrete materials to prioritize light and airflow, creating a space intended to provide a hygienic environment for those living in the district's cramped, older tenements.
