The Pont Rouelle is a specialized railway bridge that serves as a vital transit link across the Seine, connecting the fifteenth and sixteenth arrondissements. Unlike many of the grand stone bridges in Paris designed for carriages or pedestrians, this structure is strictly for trains. It carries the RER C line, allowing commuters to travel directly over the narrow, artificial island known as the Île aux Cygnes.
