Yvette Chauviré Square

landmark

This small green space carries the name of Yvette Chauviré, who is widely considered the greatest French ballerina of the twentieth century. She lived for many years in one of the buildings overlooking this square. Her career at the Paris Opera began when she was just ten years old, and she eventually reached the pinnacle of her profession, becoming one of the rare dancers in history to hold the title of prima ballerina assoluta.
