Eugénie-Malika Djendi Garden

This garden is named after Sub-Lieutenant Eugénie-Malika Djendi, a French resistance fighter who served as a radio operator during the Second World War. She was born in Algeria and volunteered for the Women's Signal Corps, a unit nicknamed the Merlinettes. In April 1944, she was parachuted into occupied France to relay vital intelligence to London. Shortly after her arrival, she was captured by the Gestapo, deported to the Ravensbrück concentration camp, and executed in January 1945. The garden stands as a tribute to her service and sacrifice for France.
