The Casino de Paris features a grand, illuminated marquee that stretches across the facade on Rue de Clichy. This theater began as a simple roller-skating rink in the late nineteenth century before evolving into a music hall. During the German occupation of the second world war, the venue remained open, serving as a rare escape for Parisians. Mistinguett, the legendary French performer, famously danced across its stage, often descending a massive staircase wearing nothing but sequins and giant feather headdresses.
