Halle Saint-Pierre

The Halle Saint-Pierre sits beneath a cast iron and glass roof that echoes the industrial style of the late nineteenth century. Originally constructed as a covered market in eighteen sixty-eight, the structure spent years housing butchers and produce vendors. Its most famous tenant, the artist Max Fourny, filled the space with his collection of outsider art in the nineteen eighties. Today, the gallery walls hold works by self-taught artists, while the ground floor cafe serves coffee under the original iron beams.
