Musée d'Art Naïf – Max Fourny

The Musée d’Art Naïf occupies the lower floor of the Saint-Pierre market building, distinguished by its vast, sweeping glass roof and industrial iron skeleton. Max Fourny, a former race car driver and art publisher, founded this collection in the nineteen seventies to showcase artists who painted without formal training. He famously insisted that these works held a raw, unfiltered energy that traditional academies stifled. The museum houses thousands of pieces, ranging from vibrant, meticulous village scenes to eccentric, dreamlike figures painted on canvas and wood.
