The Theatre de la Cité internationale sits within the Maison internationale, a building that was part of a grand post-World War One vision to foster peace through international exchange. When the theater opened its doors in nineteen thirty six, it was designed to be a centerpiece of this campus, serving as a hub where students from across the globe could gather. It eventually moved beyond its initial role as a campus facility and transformed into a professional laboratory for avant-garde creators and daring new stage performances.
