Square Julia-Bartet

Square Julia Bartet is named in honor of the renowned French actress Jeanne Julie Regnault, known to the public simply as Julia Bartet. She was a titan of the French stage who spent four decades as a leading member of the Comédie-Française until her retirement in 1920. Her performance style was so celebrated for its elegance and profound grace that she earned the nickname La Divine among her contemporaries. The park itself was inaugurated in 1960 to commemorate her contributions to French culture. In 2012, the space underwent a complete redevelopment, which transformed it into a contemporary neighborhood hub that connects directly to the nearby Jardin Anna Marly. While the square serves as a quiet local retreat today, it sits along the path of the GR 75, a long-distance walking route that circles the perimeter of Paris.
