Théâtre 14 Jean-Marie Serreau

The Theatre 14 Jean-Marie Serreau takes its name from the legendary director Jean-Marie Serreau, a man who transformed French theatre by bringing the voices of avant-garde and post-colonial writers to the stage. During the middle of the twentieth century, he defied conventional boundaries by producing the works of playwrights like Samuel Beckett, Eugene Ionesco, and Aimé Césaire. His influence persists through this municipal theatre, which was inaugurated in 1982 to continue his spirit of artistic experimentation.
