French submarine Argonaute (S636)

museum

The Argonaute is a decommissioned hunter-killer submarine that found its final port in the middle of a Parisian park. Launched in 1957, this vessel spent over two decades prowling the Mediterranean Sea, where it amassed more than 32,000 hours submerged. It once served as the flagship of the Toulon submarine squadron, playing a vital role in monitoring the seas during the Cold War. After its retirement in 1982, it was saved from the scrapyard to become a permanent maritime museum.
