Galerie Barbazanges

event

The Galerie Barbazanges sits on the Faubourg Saint Honore with a discreet, elegant facade that gives little away. In the nineteen twenties, this space acted as a launchpad for the most radical art in Paris. It was here that a young Marcel Duchamp famously attempted to exhibit a urinal signed as R. Mutt, causing a scandal that rippled through the city. The gallery owners frequently risked their professional reputations to showcase work that mainstream institutions refused to touch or even acknowledge.
