The Parc de la République is defined by its wide, flat lawns framed by dense lines of mature trees that cut off the noise of the surrounding streets. It sits on land that served as a canal-side industrial zone until the late twentieth century. City planners repurposed the site during the urban renewal of the neighborhood, prioritizing open space over the factories that once stood here. In the center, a children’s play area keeps the park active throughout the day, anchored by fixed wooden equipment.
