Parc de la République

The Parc de la République in Pantin serves as a localized example of urban resilience, specifically because of the topography it occupies. The park is situated on terrain shaped by historical gypsum mining, which scarred this land with deep pits and quarries throughout the nineteenth century. These geological remnants were once so unstable that large portions of the site spent decades functioning as a municipal landfill before authorities could finalize plans for a safe, public green space.
