Hohenzollernstraße 21

The facade of Hohenzollernstraße twenty-one features a row of distinctive, arched windows on the upper floors and ornate stone carvings that date back to its construction in nineteen hundred and five. This apartment building emerged during a building boom in Schwabing, designed by local architect Franz Rank. Rank specialized in these multi-story residential blocks that defined the neighborhood's transition from an artist colony to an upscale district. His design choice of heavy masonry and rhythmic window placement remains a signature of his portfolio.
