The Steinerne Bank is a semicircular stone bench carved from limestone, placed at the end of a long, tree-lined path. It was commissioned in eighteen thirty-eight by King Ludwig the First. He wanted a spot where people could sit and enjoy the view of the city skyline. Architect Leo von Klenze designed the bench with a Greek inscription carved into the backrest, which translates to celebrate the quiet enjoyment of nature. It remains a resting point for anyone walking through the park.
