Harmlos

The Harmlos building on Blumenstrasse stands out for its curved, corner-hugging facade, topped by an ornate wrought-iron railing that looks ready to take flight. This structure served as the original home for the Harmlos foundation, established in eighteen thirty-four by a wealthy benefactor named Josef Harmlos. He designed it as a refuge for elderly, impoverished citizens of Munich who had no other place to go. Inside, these residents shared meals and lived under strict but charitable rules until the turn of the century.
