Altes Rathaus, Anno 1310

historic

The Altes Rathaus features a tall, slender Gothic tower that tilts slightly, a remnant of the fortifications that once defined medieval Munich. Built in thirteen ten, it served as the seat of the city council for centuries. During the nineteen thirties, Joseph Goebbels delivered a speech here that incited the November pogroms, marking a dark turning point in the city’s history. Today, the building houses a toy museum, its pointed spire contrasting against the surrounding modern reconstruction of the historic center.
