Dianatempel

The Dianatempel sits as an open pavilion at the heart of the Hofgarten, distinguished by its eight arches and the copper dome capped by a bronze statue of Bavaria. Built in sixteen fifteen by Maximilian the First, it served as the center point for the royal gardens. Musicians once performed concerts here for the court, and dancers whirled across the stone floor during summer evenings. Now, the pavilion attracts street performers who draw crowds into the echoing space beneath the vaulted ceiling.
