Professor-Huber-Platz

Professor-Huber-Platz bears the name of Kurt Huber, a professor of musicology and psychology at the university here. In nineteen forty-three, Huber sat in a lecture hall across this square and drafted the final leaflet for the White Rose, a student resistance group opposing the Nazi regime. He was executed months later. Today, a memorial of stone slabs embedded in the pavement replicates those scattered papers. The plaza holds these remnants of his defiance in plain sight of the busy campus entrance.
