In nineteen ninety-three, the city council held a competition to define a symbolic center for the growing capital. Sculptor Magnus Tomasson won the commission. He chose this specific dark rock to anchor the space, and he tucked a small, hidden time capsule deep inside the base, sealed away beneath the city cobblestones.
