Shri Digambar Jain Atishay Kshetra Lal Mandir

The red sandstone walls of the Shri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir rise above the busy intersection near the Red Fort. Built in sixteen fifty-six, this temple predates the sprawling fortress across the street. Legend says a Mughal soldier once hid a small shrine here during a period of religious unrest, protecting the idol of Tirthankara Parshvanatha within the stone. It functions today as the oldest Jain temple in Delhi, with its intricate carvings and gilded ceilings serving as a quiet center for the city.
