The Shri Gauri Shankar Temple is marked by an eight-hundred-year-old lingam, a stone representation of Shiva, encased in silver and adorned with a golden dome. An eighteenth-century nobleman, Appa Gangadhar, built the structure after he survived a near-fatal illness. He credited his recovery to divine intervention and pledged to construct a sanctuary if he lived. The temple grew from his private vow, and today, it remains a center for those coming to offer water and flowers to the central stone.
