The Post Hostel occupies the old central post office building in Jerusalem. It sits behind a facade of heavy, cut stone typical of the British Mandate era, though the interior now functions as a high-ceilinged common space for travelers. In nineteen forty-eight, when Jerusalem was divided, this building became the primary mail hub for the western city. Clerks worked behind wooden counters sorting letters that were often the only connection families had to the outside world during the tense months of the siege.
