St. Mark's Church

The heavy, iron-studded wooden door of Saint Mark’s Church sits tucked into a narrow stone archway, marked by a faded sign in Aramaic and English. Inside this ancient Syrian Orthodox sanctuary, tradition identifies the space as the upper room where the Last Supper took place, and the home of Mary, the mother of John Mark. The walls hold an icon of the Virgin Mary attributed to Saint Luke the Evangelist, said to have been brought here from Antioch in the sixth century.
