13 Queen Square

Thirteen Queen Square features a Palladian facade with a distinct central pediment, marking it as a deliberate piece of John Wood the Elder’s vision for Bath. While he intended the square to emulate Roman forums, his son, John Wood the Younger, oversaw the completion of this house in the middle of the eighteenth century. Architecturally, it serves as the anchor for the entire northern range, balancing the grand proportions that define this section of the city.
