Margaret's Buildings

Margaret's Buildings is a narrow, pedestrian passage lined with uniform stone houses that connects the Royal Crescent to the Circus. John Wood the Younger designed these dwellings in the seventeen seventies to house the steady stream of wealthy visitors arriving in Bath for the healing waters. Jane Austen once lived at number thirteen for a few months in eighteen oh one. She paid her rent here while she walked the same stones you are standing on today.
