The Thermae Bath Spa features a glass-walled rooftop pool that reflects the limestone spires of Bath Abbey. This building marks the modern return of thermal bathing to the city, reconnecting the site to the ancient spring water that has flowed here for thousands of years. In nineteen eighty-two, a local woman named Sarah was the last person to bathe in the old city pool before it closed for decades. When the new facility opened in two thousand and six, she was the first to dive in.
