Volks Club

The Volks Club features a distinct, rusted metal facade that sits tucked into the arches beneath the Brighton Palace Pier. It operates as the oldest continuously licensed venue in the city, tracing its roots to the late nineteenth century. Magnus Volk originally designed the space to house the engine room for his electric railway. After the rail operations shifted, the cavernous, damp space transformed into a legendary cellar venue where local musicians played loud, stripped-back sets while the tide crashed against the concrete outside.
